Bond University Master of Communication / Master of Communication (Professional) / Master of Communication/Master of Project Management: application checkpoints before you choose an adviser
Both Bond Master of Communication programs require a recognised bachelor degree in communication, society and culture, education, business or management.
Before you pay an adviser to handle a Bond communication master’s application, you can check about a dozen program details yourself. This article lists them for the Master of Communication and the Master of Communication (Professional), using the figures Bond publishes on its program pages.
Program identity: codes to match against your offer paperwork
- Both are Masters Degree (Coursework) programs in the study area Communication, Film, and Creative Media.
- The Master of Communication has program code HS-23095 and CRICOS code 078660G.
- The Master of Communication (Professional) has program code HS-23080 and CRICOS code 063308C.
An adviser’s quote, your offer letter and your visa paperwork should all name the same program and CRICOS code. If the codes do not match the program you meant to apply for, sort that out before paying anything.
Study length: one year versus 92 weeks
- The Master of Communication is listed as 1 year, made up of 3 semesters.
- The Master of Communication (Professional) is listed as 92 weeks.
Credit points: 120 versus 165
- The Master of Communication has 110 compulsory credit points and 10 elective credit points, for a total of 120.
- The Master of Communication (Professional) has 125 compulsory credit points and 40 elective credit points, for a total of 165.
Ask any adviser which of these two structures their study plan is built on.
Tuition: 2026 totals for international students
- The Master of Communication totals AUD 62,360 in 2026.
- The Master of Communication (Professional) totals AUD 73,830 in 2026.
Bond describes these figures as a guide only. Actual fees vary with the subjects you choose and the year you start, and the fee that applies is the one for your year of entry. Treat any quote that quotes a single fixed total with caution.
Academic entry: the same degree rule for both programs
Both programs ask for successful completion of a recognised bachelor degree, or an equivalent qualification, in one of these areas:
- Communication
- Society and culture
- Education
- Business and management
Applicants from China and from Taiwan are listed under the same rule. For both places, Bond’s listed qualification is a recognised 4-year bachelor degree equivalent to an Australian bachelor degree.
Compare your own degree major and length against these two lines. They are the first thing an adviser should be able to match to your transcript.
English requirement: scores for IELTS and PTE
For both programs, Bond lists:
- IELTS Academic: overall 6.5, with no sub-score below 6.0.
- PTE Academic: overall 58, with no communicative score below 50.
Bond also lists a TOEFL iBT option. Compare your test results with the IELTS and PTE lines above, paying attention to the sub-score floors as well as the overall number.
Questions to put to an adviser
- Which program, and which CRICOS code, is the quote based on?
- Does the plan assume 120 or 165 credit points, and 1 year or 92 weeks?
- Which fee year is the tuition figure from?
- Does your degree major fall under one of the four listed areas?
- Do your English results meet both the overall score and the sub-score floors?
Fees, entry rules and English scores follow what Bond publishes for the year you enter, so use the 2026 figures here as a reference point only.
